The 2004 Hermitage, which sees about 50% new oak, comes from a sandy, stony Hermitage vineyard better known for its whites, Les Murets. An elegant tapenade characteristic is accompanied by smoke, black currant, and cherry notes in this medium to full-bodied, impressively-endowed wine. It should drink well for 7-8 years.
