This is a balanced and luminous interpretation of Pinot Noir, with wild berry and cassis. There's not much depth to speak of in the 2018 Alto Adige Pinot Nero, but the wine is broad, wide and satisfying. The fruit is immediate, ripe and balanced having aged just briefly (for four months) in a combination of cement and large oak casks. This one should work just fine on pizza night. Some 95,000 bottles were made.
