The 1997 Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyard exhibits a deep ruby/purple color with purple nuances. Noteworthy quantities of blackberry fruit, dried herbs, spice, and floral scents jump from the glass. There is terrific fruit, medium to full body, a supple texture with sweet tannin lurking in the background, and a fine finish. Drinkable now, it should continue to evolve for 5-7 years. Tel.
