The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Glass Collection represents around 45% of plantings on the estate and is due to increase with further plantings. There is a small proportion of bought-in fruit for this cuvée. It aged 12 months in 300-liter French oak barrels, 15% new. It has quite an opulent bouquet delivering blackberry, boysenberry and cassis fruit, well-defined, with just a touch of graphite in the background. The medium-bodied palate has pliant tannins and a subtle peppery/graphite note on the entry. It’s focused, with the most complexity on the finish compared to other cuvées in the Glass Collection. This should age well in bottle. Excellent.
