The outrageously priced 1999 Pesus was fashioned from a tiny parcel of 82-year old Tempranillo blended with 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Yields were a microscopic 7-9 hectoliters per hectare. It boasts a dense purple color along with a closed style with obviously outstanding potential, big, concentrated flavors, plenty of structure, and high tannin. Undeniably high quality juice, this structured, tannic 1999 is meant for 10-20 years of cellaring. However, the price is hard to swallow.
