The 2005 Libranza was sourced from 120-year-old vines and aged for 14 months in French oak. Dark ruby in color, it is a bit more expressive aromatically as well as more concentrated. On the palate, savory, ripe black cherry and blackberry flavors nicely conceal enough ripe tannin to support 5-7 years of additional cellaring. It will offer prime drinking from 2014 to 2025.
Both Bodegas Matarredonda wines are sourced from old vine Tempranillo.
