The 2010 Campo Alegre comes from vines aged between 25 and 60 years and sees a double selection of first clusters then grapes before being aged for 15 months in French oak. It has a harmonious bouquet of pure dark cherries, wild strawberry and lavender that is focused and clean. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins, crisp acidity and a refined, fresh, spice-tinged finish that is very satisfying. This is a delicious, well-crafted Toro red that should repay cellaring if you are so inclined. Drink now-2018.
