The 2008 Terra Barossa Pinot Gris is medium straw-colored with a slight amber tinge. It offers up aromas of tangerine and tropical scents leading to a ripe, crisp, just off-dry, balanced wine with good length. Drink it over the next 3 years. Thorn-Clarke is a fine source for values from Australia. There are three levels of wine, the Milton Park series lined priced at $13, the Terra Barossa series line priced at $15, and the Shotfire series line priced at $24. The 2004 Pinot Gris Terra Barossa Cuvee is a straightforward, pleasant, fairly priced offering. This successful, reasonably large operation (666 acres) with vineyards dating back to the 1850s offer an assortment of wines under various labels (Milton Park, Terra Barossa, Shotfire Ridge, and William Randall). Their offerings are undeniably seductive, modern-styled, classic South Australian wines exhibiting copious quantities of upfront fruit, full body, and abundant oak.
