The 1995 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Classique is a textbook Provencal Chateauneuf du Pape with its sweet, gamey, meaty, roasted herb, black cherry, peppery aromas and flavors, rich, nicely-textured, medium to full-bodied flavors, and good depth, ripeness, and extract. Already approachable, it promises to last for 7-8 years. This northern Chateauneuf du Pape estate has come on strong in the nineties since the son, Jean-Paul Daumen, took over for his father.
